I’ll start by saying this is not the beloved classic but it’s a nice illustrated version of it. It does not portray the relationship between the Dashwood sisters as the book does but it does it in its own sweet, unique manganesque way.
On the other hand, I think it also missed some of its funnier moments and brought to life some of its somber ones, making this version a little more melodramatic than the actual book.
So I’ll reiterate that this is not the original Austen book but it was still enjoyable. Perhaps it’s not one to add to your Austen collection but I would buy it for that special young reader eager to learn more about the classics but not quite ready or proficient to read them in book form.
*** I received this book from Netgalley at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***
